  7. TikTok Account Data (only if you connect a TikTok account)

    • What We Collect: If you choose to connect a TikTok account through TikTok Login, we receive an access token, a refresh token and your TikTok open_id / union_id, together with the profile fields you authorize us to read (display name, username, avatar) and, where you grant the corresponding permissions, your account statistics (follower count, video count, total likes) and the public metadata of your own posts (video ID, title, description, cover image, share link, duration, publish time, view / like / comment / share counts).
    • Purpose: To publish or schedule the videos you create in Clipcat to your own TikTok account at your request, and to display your own performance analytics inside Clipcat. We only ever access the account you authorize, and only your own content — we do not collect data about other TikTok users.
    • What We Never Do: We do not use TikTok data to train AI models, we do not sell or share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it to build profiles unrelated to your own analytics.

TikTok Data: Use, Retention and Deletion

Connecting a TikTok account is entirely optional — every other part of Clipcat works without it.

  • Scope of access: We request only the permissions needed for the features you use: user.info.basic and user.info.profile (to show which account you are connected to), video.publish and video.upload (to post or draft your videos at your request), and user.info.stats and video.list (to show your analytics). TikTok displays the full permission list on the authorization screen before you approve it.
  • How it is stored: Access and refresh tokens are stored on our servers with access controls and are used solely to call TikTok's official APIs on your behalf. Cover images are mirrored to our storage because TikTok's CDN links expire.
  • Retention: We keep your TikTok tokens and profile information for as long as the account remains connected. Analytics records synced from TikTok are retained so that your historical performance charts remain available.
  • Revoking access: You can disconnect a TikTok account at any time from the TikTok account settings page in Clipcat. Doing so revokes the access token with TikTok immediately and deletes the stored tokens and profile information, after which we can no longer access your TikTok account. You can also revoke Clipcat's access directly from TikTok under Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Manage app permissions.
  • Deleting your data: To have the analytics history synced from TikTok erased as well, or to have all of your Clipcat data deleted, email us at [email protected] from the address associated with your account. We will action the request within 30 days.
  • TikTok's own policies: Data you receive through TikTok is also governed by TikTok's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Data Storage and Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. The data we collect is stored securely on our servers, and we implement a variety of security measures including encryption and access controls to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties, except in the following circumstances:

  • To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others.
